“ My mission is to help everyone listening find freedom
through smarter and safer movement patterns so that,
together, we can be uplifted, benefiting all beings
around us.”
Lara Heimann is, among many things, a physical therapist and a yogi, making her a lover of movement. She is known for her large following on social media and her unique style of movement that evolved out of her yoga and physical therapy expertise. No longer does she consider herself simply a yoga teacher or simply a physical therapist, but a movement specialist. Lara believes in movement that is safe, smart, and good for your individual body. And in all honesty, some yoga poses do not fit this description.
Lara’s podcast, Movement by Lara: Redefining Yoga, is the outlet she uses to express her love of movement. And not just the traditional definition of movement. In her very first podcast, Lara explains multiple definitions of the word that spark her curiosity, including “a group of people working together to advance their shared political, social, or artistic ideas.” She promotes the fact that the true purpose of yoga is consciousness raising, and by discussing all she believes to be true and important about yoga and movement in her podcast, she fulfills not only the purpose of yoga, but the numerous definitions of the word movement.
“Yoga is and always has been wonderful, and the essence of it
always remains the same: raising consciousness. I just want to
examine the box we’re putting yoga into and explore ways to
change or improve the way we’re living.”
Lara Heimann releases a new podcast approximately every other day, meaning she has produced almost 150 fascinating episodes for you. They range in topic to fit her many movement-related passions, include experts, interviews, and more. Topic examples include office ergonomics, building confidence, vegan eating, focus on specific body parts (hamstrings, neck, butt, etc), music, pose breakdowns, and pain, among many many others.
