Experiment 1: Dance

Proposal: In this experiment, I want to demonstrate what my experience with people with autism means to me, in particular when I was administering this lesson. I have had various great experiences with people on the spectrum, and I want other people to see how important these experiences and people are to me. Not only that, but the dance will thusly show how awesome people with autism are in general! In order to communicate this, I will create a dance from the point of view of a nonverbal student with autism. I am considering using voice over during the dance with two distinct parts. The reason for this is because my experience with autism in general is made up of two distinct parts: academic and personal. The academics of autism makes it seem like a sad disorder that is difficult to deal with, but my personal experience shows me that people with autism are creative and inspiring and energetic. I intend to make these parts clear through the choreography and the possible voice over of facts about autism (at a most basic level, negative and positive facts).
